Gary Wild Memorial Day of Service

Every year the NSBA honors Past President Gary Wild by partnering with organizations that exemplify Gary's character and interests. 

Gary was one of our most active members.  He particularly was kind and supportive to all new members.  Additionally Gary, as a lawyer, was zealous in protecting the rights of the less fortunate.  He was a social security disability lawyer, represented parents and children in the juvenile court, and was an active member of the ACLU.

In the past we have held memorial dinners at which the NSBA presented donations to worthy organizations. This year we are inviting everyone to honor Gary by serving others at the Misericordia Home for the developmentally/physically disabled.

On March 2, 2026 we will spend the day at Misericordia.

Misericordia offers a community of care that maximizes potential for persons with mild to profound developmental disabilities, many of whom are also physically challenged. By serving society’s most vulnerable citizens, Misericordia also serves the families who want the best for them, yet cannot provide it at home. Through a spectrum of residential options on its 37 acre Chicago campus in the community, and with a wide variety of programs, Misericordia currently serves more than 600 children and adults residentially, from diverse racial, religious and socio-economic backgrounds. Twenty percent of our residents either come from poverty families or have no families and are wards of the State.

SCHEDULE

Our day will start at 10am and go until approximately 2:30pm and will include a guided tour of the campus, lunch and volunteer opportunities with the residents. 

This promises to be an experience where we will receive far more than we give through our interactions with the residents and staff at Misericordia.

DIRECTIONS & PARKING INFO

Please use 6300 N. Ridge Ave on your navigation systems to get the most accurate directions. When entering from Ridge Ave there is a parking lot immediately on your left, and people are welcome to park in there. The reception area where we'll meet is just to the left of a big Misericordia Home plaque and under a red stained-glass heart (the center doors).

12th Annual High School Mock Trial Invitational

3:00 PM - 7:00 PM | Skokie Courthouse

The North Suburban Bar Association (NSBA) is delighted to host its 12th High School Mock Trial, in-person at Skokie Courthouse, 5600 Old Orchard Road, on Tuesday March 3rd.

Mock trials provide students with hands-on experience of the legal system, helping them understand court proceedings, legal concepts, ethical considerations, and the roles of attorneys, judges and witnesses.

The time commitment is from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by the Awards Ceremony, on March 3, and one pre-event virtual planning meeting.

This is a great way for you to demonstrate your commitment to community engagement and support for educational initiatives. All sponsors will be acknowledged on the website and verbally at the event, and will also be acknowledged and tagged on Social Media.
