    MEMBERS ONLY EVENT!
    Only 30 Spots Available!

(If you are not a member yet, join here!)

On May 20th from 6:00-8:00 pm CST we will be doing a very comedy/social event with The Second City. The Second City is a world-renown improv and sketch comedy training center, operating in Chicago and Toronto for over 60 years. Their Alumni include folks like Amber Ruffin, Gilda Radner,  Amy Poehler, Bill Murray, Keegan-Michael Key... and the list goes on!

We don't want to give away everything about our session, but I will say that it will be highly interactive, and probably be the most fun you've had on Zoom. And, don't worry, you won't have to sing, juggle, or showcase your "tight-five" standup routine!

    Co-Hosts:

    CBA President, Maryam Ahmad

NSBA President, Hon. Megan E. Goldish

    Second City Performers:

lele_masonLead Facilitator: Lele Mason is a rising comedienne. A very funny lady with a unique perspective. Using her Masters degree in Public Administration she combines her understanding of organizational development and theory with comedy to enhance professional environments. Beginning her career in comedy with improvisation making the transition to Stand-Up became a natural choice. Formerly seen on stages throughout Chicago you can now catch her observational, experiential, and curious approach on a virtual stage near you.

rachel_millerCo-Facilitator: Rachel Miller facilitates and designs workshops that assist global companies with communication, collaboration, storytelling, public speaking and more. With over 20 years of facilitation and performance experience, she has created and hosted projects and events via Second City Works, Catalyst Collective, BI Worldwide, August Jackson and others. Rachel has also worked for Walt Disney Creative Entertainment and The Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and spent six years in Amsterdam performing with and developing workshop curriculum for English-language sketch and improv theatre Boom Chicago. She has rapped for U2, spoken 9 words on TVs Chicago Fire, lived on a cruise ship, and been a member of Second City’s National Touring Company. Rachel holds a Bachelor of Music Performance in Oboe and a Masters of Arts Administration, both from Indiana University.

john_loos Co-Facilitator: John Loos graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in editorial journalism. He has performed for Second City at Sea on three NCL ships and is an ensemble member of the sketch group GayCo Productions, joining in 2007. He's written several plays performed at The Annoyance, including Earthqueef and A Woman’s Path. Currently he writes and performs with the sketch duo Pinque Pony, through which he wrote and produced the web series The Log Jam, and he's also a contributing writer to The Second City Network. In 2012 his pilot script "Mr. Mayor" was a finalist at the FOX Comedy Script contest at the New York Television Festival.

cat_savageCo-Facilitator: Cat Savage is delighted to perform with The Second City. A Massachusetts native, she moved to Chicago after graduating from Brown University with a double major in History and Gender Studies. She is a proud graduate of The Second City Training Center’s Conservatory and Severn Darden Graduate Program, as well as iO’s training program. You can catch her performing in Chicago with Artemis and in the Armando Diaz Experience (iO). She really loves her dog-nephew, Chance. Follow her online! Twitter: @CatharineSavage

amanda_murphyMusic Director: Amanda Murphy has been a professional performer and musician since the age of 18. She studied at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada, working toward a Bachelor's of Music Degree majoring in Voice, with a minor in Composition. Before completing her degree, she moved to New York City to study musical theater at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, going on to perform all over the east coast, and eventually returning to Toronto to perform with the Canadian Stage Company. Her career includes musicals, commercials, big band singing, and choral work. She began studying improv in earnest after moving to Chicago, where she has taken classes at the SCTC, The Annoyance, and iO, but found her home in the form of Music Improv. She now teaches and performs improv, songwriting, and voice, as well as music directs all over Chicago; she has written several musicals; she is a founding member of the Improvised Sondheim Project, which she both performs with and produces.

Virtual Stage Manager: Jesse Swanson is an east coast native. Originally from the New York area, he has produced, directed, designed and stage managed shows all over the country and the world.
