Join us for a CLE program: Mortgage Foreclosures in the Age of COVID on Wednesday, October 28 from 4:00-5:00 pm via Zoom.

Judge Chupack, whose court call involves foreclosures, will present how the foreclosure process works, with particular concentration on how the Covid-19 crisis has affected cases before him, as well as how the governor's orders and other proclamations has and is likely to influence foreclosure practice.

Speaker: The Honorable Joel Chupack, Circuit Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County

Hon. Joel Chupack was elected Judge for the 12th Judicial Subcircuit in Cook County in 2018. On April 6, 2020, he was assigned to the Chancery Division, where he presides over a Mortgage Foreclosure call. Prior to that assignment, he was assigned to the Eviction Division of the 1st Municipal District. Judge Chupack is involved in several bar association activities, including: current Chair of the Chicago Bar Association Real Property Law Committee; current Vice-Chair of the ISBA’s UPL Task Force; former Chair of the ISBA’s Real Estate Law Section Council; ISBA Assembly Member; contributing editor to ISBA’s Disaster Legal Services Manual; and former President of The Decalogue Society of Lawyers. Judge Chupack has authored articles and has been a speaker at seminars on various civil procedure and real estate topics. Off the bench, Judge Chupack remains involved in various community groups. Prior to being elected to the bench, Judge Chupack was a partner in a small law firm, handling its civil, commercial, and real estate litigation.
